Sketches by Sydney is my creative home as a digital illustrator — where I share my work, my process, and everything in between. I’m Sydney Crandall, and I create portrait and character illustration across a wide range of styles, from flat illustration and semi-realism to vintage, anime, and painterly portraiture.
My work doesn’t stay in one lane by design. A detailed character portrait might follow a quick cartoon sketch. Every medium and style is a tool for a different kind of expression, and my art is always evolving.

I build expressive human figures, character studies, and stylised portraits — each piece developed through deliberate layering and close attention to light, mood, and form. Some pieces are quiet and detailed. Others are quick and playful. That range is intentional.

About original artwork: Gallery and Studio members receive early access and a patron discount on available original artwork. Original pieces are limited and sold separately — I don’t guarantee an original every month.
What does each tier include?
Sketchbook ($5) gives you my rough sketches, character concepts, and behind-the-scenes studio updates — 2 to 4 posts per month. Gallery ($10) adds my completed full-color artwork, high-resolution files, wallpapers, and early access to finished pieces. Studio ($20) adds step-by-step tutorials, process breakdowns, timelapse videos, and layer-by-layer explanations of how I work.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes — all three tiers are month-to-month. Cancel directly through Patreon at any time and you keep access until the end of your current billing period.
How does the original artwork discount work?
Gallery and Studio members get early access and a patron discount when I make original artwork available. Originals are limited and sold separately — I don’t promise a physical piece every month.
